Oriental - A Name Trusted by Professionals.
After an absence of almost four years, Oriental New Seagull papers are back on the shelves of America's finest Photo Specialty stores. Long regarded as one of the premier black and white papers, New Seagull has been the material of choice for some of the world's most prominent photographers, including Ansel Adams and Brett Weston.
Adams printed most of his famous "Moonrise, Hernandez" prints on Oriental New Seagull. His 16"x20" dodge/burn schematic for that negative is frequently displayed at gallery exhibitions. A hand written margin specifies, "Use New Seagull #3." Adams loved this papers refined cold tone look that so fits his best work. He was particulary fond of New Seagull's reaction to selenium toner, which intensified the d-max and put an extra measure of sparkle and purity into the highlights.
At one point, Brett Weston reprinted several of his most famous portfolios and in a forward to one of them said about Oriental, "Quite simply the best paper I ever used." Weston expressed his pride in using Oriental New Seagull in other ways. The license plate on his car in Carmel read "New Seagull"; the Corvette in Hawaii "Oriental".

Every important photographer for the last forty years has been a fan of this legendary paper. Recently, it went away for awhile but it is now back stronger than ever.
